Jenn’s Story
I know what it’s like to hit that wall—the moment you realize your spark died long ago, you’ve had enough, and you just can’t do any more. I’ve been there.
In 2007, I bought a house with my (now) ex and started a business. Great timing, right? As the Great Recession worsened, I picked up job after job just to stay afloat. My partner fell ill, my mom was diagnosed with late-stage cancer, and soon my jobs—and savings—were gone. By 2010, I was caring for everyone else, updating unemployment claims online, and utterly spent.
The day I emotionally collapsed from burnout—silently crying, “I’m done”—is seared into my memory. I was only 33 when I crashed into that wall.
Rebuilding wasn’t linear. I found my way the messy, human way—seeking treatment for trauma and addiction, grieving, making new choices, and discovering that real healing is both brave and imperfect.
Becoming a trauma specialist and coach, I guided others on their own path to healing, learning as much from my clients as from any textbook.
Yet even with all my new tools, burnout found me again—this time as I lived and worked full-time at a trauma recovery center. Only when I dug deep into research did I discover vicarious trauma. Finally, my symptoms made sense! I learned it wasn’t just me; anyone constantly exposed to hard stories (not just therapists or first responders) can be changed by their work.
That insight changed everything. I blended evidence-based tools, lived experience, and self-compassion to move from depletion back to meaning and vibrancy—to relight a spark I thought I’d lost for good.
Today, I use my journey, expertise, and passion for transformation to support news professionals like you. I know the darkness—and the way through.
That’s the heart behind Silver Wheel Coaching: walking beside you as you rediscover purpose, vitality, and joy—not by ignoring the hard stuff, but by honoring it and building new strength, together.
If you feel the wall approaching (or have crashed right through it), reach out. You don’t have to do this alone!

Why the Name Silver Wheel Coaching?
I wanted a name that truly reflected the cycles of transformation in life and work—something unique, meaningful, and easy to remember. My search led me to my own heritage, to the Welsh goddess Arianrhod, whose role was to guide souls through profound transitions. But unless you’re Welsh, “Arianrhod” is wicked to pronounce—so I chose her English translation: Silver Wheel.
It’s a name that reflects the ongoing journey of renewal we all face—reminding us that the right guide can ease transformation and help your spark shine brighter with every new chapter.
